🌿 MYTHS vs FACTS: How much do you know about BMI? BMI (Body Mass Index) is commonly used to assess weight in relation to height. But did you know that BMI cannot tell you everything about your health? ●Myth 1: BMI tells you exactly how healthy you are. ☆FACT: BMI is a screening tool, not a complete measure of health. It doesn't assess everything about your body. ●Myth 2: A normal BMI means you are perfectly healthy. ☆FACT: Even with a normal BMI, a person may have high blood pressure, diabetes or other health problems. ●Myth 3: A high BMI always means excess body fat. ☆FACT: Muscular individuals may have a higher BMI despite having relatively low body fat. ●Myth 4: BMI is calculated differently for men and women. ☆FACT: The standard BMI formula is the same for adult men and women. ●Myth 5: The same BMI categories apply to children and adults. ☆FACT: Children and teenagers require age- and sex-specific BMI percentiles. Adult BMI categories should not be used for them. ●Myth 6: Weight alone determines BMI. ☆FACT: BMI is calculated using both weight and height. ●Myth 7: Losing weight is always the only way to improve health. ☆FACT: Healthy habits such as regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep and managing health conditions also matter. 💬 Have you ever checked your BMI?
